I'll post here 'cause I'm not sure where else to put it...

I have a 27' boat with two 330hp 454's. The lower drive units are not quite up to handling this kind of power. As a result, I would like to use an adaptor and put 2bbl carbs on each engine, effectively 'derating' the power and possibly saving the lower units (and my wallet!!!).

Does anyone have any sugestions?

 

you have to get either an adapter or a new intake manifold

 

Yeah, I know. I've done this before, but on a car. I just need to get the horsepower down under 300 so the Alpha outdrives can live longer. The only thing I'm not sure of is what size of 2BBL to run...
