2000 S-10 ZR2. When trying to switch into 4 Hi or Low and light on the button flashes a few times and won't engage the 4WD. Where is a go place to start looking?

 

see if you can hear your engaging solenoid activate. check fuses,

have seen alot of problems with the s-10's, could be an encoder motor malfunction, a possible TCCM problem, or maybe a switch. cant tell you a staright forward answer without seeing the vehicle
