Had this issue on my 96, My issue was an unhooked wiring harness on the drivers side top of the transfer case (not the easiest to see) the harness had actually gotten over the case and was hanging on the back side. Made me wonder if someone helped it since I had to work to get it back to the front side to where it plugged in... anyway, After I plugged it back in I still got nothin... then hit the forums and found a post that said to disconnect your battery for 30 minutes to allow the electronics (computer) to reset. Once I did this and reconnected the battery, bingo, 4hi worked as it should. Worth reseting the radio stations for sure. Hope this helps.
