89 to 99 Suburban Engine Swap
I currently own a 1989 Chevy Suburban that is in almost perfect running condition, however the body has rotted away in the usual places. (wheel well, rockers, doors, etc.)
I have found a 1999 Chevy Suburban that is in excellent condition inside and out, but the engine is blown. My question is, could I remove the engine from my 89 Suburban, replace the intake, alternator, power steering pump, etc... with the engine parts on the 1999 Engine and re-install it in the newer truck. Basically switch the blocks. Both have throttle body fuel injection and look almost identical to the naked eye. But, will the motor mounts line up? Do they have the same sensors/locations?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
