Default 94 5.7 litre

I have a 1994 police crusier with the 5.7 engine and it's overheating constantly. Put in new radiator and waterpump and thermostat. At a lost anybody out there have similar promblem that can make suggestion

Are you sure you have the right water pump? Check the belt routing to make sure you need a reverse flow or regular pump...

Run the engine with the rad cap off and check for bubbles in the rad after the stat opens.If you had them it is a indication of a blown head gasket or cracked head or heads.

Hi buddha69,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

Let me know if it's still overheating after you change the radiator cap.

What happens is the OEM cap gets ignored until the rubber ring inside forms a set. At some point shortly thereafter a small leak at the cap allows your pressure to go from 14PSI to 0PSI and Presto! Overheat. Remember, while the antifreeze keeps the water from freezing, the water itself is what most efficiently transfers the heat from the engine. So keep the ratio @60% water for best results.

Use a Stant brand cap. Trust me, the $7.39 aint gonna kill you.
