Default '97 Burb - Power Steering Pump - How to install Inlet Valve on pump body - Replacing

Guys

Thought already posted this inquiry, but not finding it - apologies if duplicated my request.

1997 Suburban K-1500 w/5.7 Vortec

I need help - How to install Inlet Valve on pump body - Replacing Power Steering Pump

Having trouble installing High Pressure inlet valve into replacement PS pump.

Swapping parts off of old pump to put onto new pump and can only start threading Inlet Valve then just stops and will not continue too go all the way in and seat.

Pulled the old one off and it popped right out, but after replacing w/new O-Rings won't go in...?

Tried putting it back into old pump and same problem... will only go in a bit and then stops - did not want to force it and break something.

Is there some kind of a installation trick to get the Hi pressure inlet valve body back into the PS pump?

Appreciate any advice on this.

Did not expect a problem, now car is down and no other wheels right now.

Best regards,

Lfryklu

I'd suggest look at the threads on both valves, they look the same pitch, or not? If both are the same, get a wrench on it.

Could be the O ring is just hanging up, use a little bit of PS fluid on it.
