This is my first post, 1999 Astro 2 wheel drive 4.2 won't start. Battery is one month old and has plenty of juice as all lights are bright but when I put cables on it it fires right up. This just started happening, sounds like something is draining a little off the battery. Any ideas??

 

There may be a draw or the battery may need a good trickle charge. Have you changed or modified anything before it started?

 

I tried to jump it this Morning with no luck, time to call the Garage I guess

 

No I didn't change anything, maybe a bad alternator ?

 

I'd try giving the battery a good charge and if it starts make sure the alternator is charging

 

I didn't get into details on my first post but the battery is only a month old and I been driving with no problem till the other day. Four days ago it wouldn't start but it jumped with no problem, Sat. it wouldn't start or jump so it doesn't look like it's taking a charge. As you say it's probably the Alternator, don't know what else it could be
