Default Automobile Air Conditioning

My son has a 2000 Chevy Cavalier that has a bad AC clutch - most people tell me to replace the compressor and clutch as a unit - hate to spend that much if its only the clutch.Any advice or has anybody pulled the clutch while thecompressor is still on the car ? Is that possible ? Thanks

if money is a issue just do the clutch if u are doing it urself
but if u are having a garage doing it
do the whole compressor cause labor cost alot
and if the compressor goes after u just did the clutch
u would have to pay that labor again
so its all about money

The important part of this question is has anybody pulled an ACclutch before and did you do it while the compressor is still on the car or did you remove the compressor from the car?
Need to know before trying it - does not look like much room and what type of puller is required ?
Thanks
