Default bleeding back brakes.

Hello again guys !

I tried posting this in the venture forums, but have yet to get a response.

back Drum brakes for my 98 3.4L Venture with ABS

ABS light stays on. brakes lights off.

I've replaced my back wheel cylinders, shoes & lines.

Also had to replace my master cylinder.

fronts bleed fine.

For the life of me I can't bleed my back brakes..

I do not have access to a scan tool to set the abs system to the home position.

Anything I can do to bleed my backs myself or do I have to get a scan tool or take it to a shop?

So I broke down and brought the van into be looked at and I'm told my ABS control mod is defective and this is the reason why I can't get the back brakes to bleed. And no guarentee it will fix the problem or not.

So I'm going to think about it.

I had a similar problem with my 2003 Venture with rear brakes and the ABS light staying on. I had to adjust them up manually pretty tight and bleed twice. Still the light remained on. Then a mechanic told me to give it a couple of days. Sure enough the light went off and all is fine. Hope this helps. However, if you pushed the wheel cyl. in so as to push brake fluid back to the master cyl. I've been told it causes damage.
