Default Break Lights out

I have a question, that I hope will not be too difficult to solve. I have a 1996 Chevy Monte Carlo. Both rear brake lights are not working. The middle one, that is located in the back window is working however. We checked the fuse (hopefully the right one), and it does not appear blown. We have also replaced both bulbs, and still no lights. Any suggestions what I could/should try next?

Default RE: Break Lights out

Check to see if there is power to the wires at the bulbs, my dad had trouble with the connection at the bulb holders in his truck.
