Default Can anyone help me identify the prize in my oil pan?

I have a 350 sbc (not original) out of an 71 el Camino I've been restoring. I pulled the pan because I had a few metal shavings during an oil change and found this . Any guesses?

Yes, it is magnetic

I just redid all the umbrella valves and valve seals. All looked okay. It could be a shim but it is also quite large to go from upper to lower.

I think its a little small to be a thrush bearing. Took crank out mains looked okay.

I still have no idea. I hope it wasn't a shim. Who shims an engine. By the wear on the forks it does appear to be wedged in between something. Im hoping PO dropped it in the pan and thats it.

I'm borrowing a friend's digital micrometer today to take some measurements

Pull the distributor, probably part of the base.
