Change drivers side headlamp
I own a 2007 Chevy Silverado (new body style)and need to get at the lamps in the housing on the drivers side to switch them out. Anyone have a solution on how to do this without taking the whole front of the truck apart? My hands are too big and won't fit in the small space where the lamps go into the housing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I figuered this out myself. Hopes this helps someone else. There are 4 bolts that hold the light housing to the fender. 2 on top and 2 hidden on the bottom. You also need to take the 2 bolts off the front plastic fender guard to get to 1 of the bolts. I had to tap into the green and white (hot) wire for the highbeams to install some Hella driving lights. It helps to take off the radiator guard on top and the 4 bolts that holds the grill to the body. After all of this there still isn't much room to work on the wiring behind the lights BUT you can remove the bulbs if you need to change them easier. Afterwards work in reverse and put everything back together. And this is a better design???
Nice looking Tahoe. I had one before my Silverado and could take the headlight assembly off by removing the 2 large pins on top. Unfortunately with the Silverado one has to go through all the hassle of getting to the 4 bolts that hold it on and then there still isn't much room to get the lamps out. Very small hands like in the Burger King commercial would work though.
