I have an 85 Chevy c-10 with a sb 350, hei distributor with no vacuum advance, with a Holley 600cfm Carb, I've tried adjusting idle air screws, had a friend help me out, haven't tried timing yet, haven't really done alot of that, it bogs on light acceleration, especially in gear, stalls out and picks right back up when you let off the gas, need some help, any advice?

 

From the symptoms you've provided if you haven't set your timing yet I would say this is more than likely the culprit...time to break out the old timing light and giver her a go.

Check that and then post your findings.
