Default Chevy jeep

Hi I have a 2001 Jeep Wrangler with a chevy 327 LS1 5.3 fi Dana 44 rear with 373 gears front is a Dana 30 . Transmission is a 4L60e. Super swamper ts radials 33/12.50/15 r tires . I would like to install smaller tires for smoother riding .what do you recommend I put on these rims ? I'm concerned with the gears. Can I just put regular size tires? If not what best size of tire do I go with?

You're very limited on other tires, on THAT rim. You need to maintain a Tread width of 12.5" (+/- 1/2") for the best performance. I'd say get another set of rims and choose some Tires with a 75 profile (like a 265/75R/16) or any approximate alternate. Since you're apparently trying to do street/hi-way, on that light of a vehicle, you could use a "P" type tire as well.

On your choices, remember...
The higher number Profile gives you more flex between the road and the rim.
P type tires are built more flexible than the LT type.
The lighter the tire, the softer the ride (usually).

You might also consider some "Adjustable" Shocks, where you could set them to a softer ride when you want.
