Might be the problem lies in the ball joints, the indication that we have a problem with the ball joints is the intermittent banging sound that seems to be coming from a corner of the vehicle. This sound is usually more pronounced when going over a bump, as time goes on, this sound becomes louder. I did a quick search online and if you need to replace your ball joints this site looks like it has cheap prices, free shipping and great reviews Ball Joint Parts, Ball Joints Replacement - Buy Auto Parts

You don't think it could be the differentials slipping in the rear Axle?

Yes, that too causes this problem, in such cases crown wheel and pinion might be worn. Also the differential noise could be produced due to drop in lubricant levels.
