I have an 09 silverado 2500 6.6 liter turbo diesel duramax v8 crew cab...going down the high way all gauge lights start going crazy the pick up spudders and dies...took it to the dealership and they replaced the computer at a hefty hit to the pocketbook of 6000, its still continuing to do this and now theres a squeeling sound...any help is progress and greatly appreciated

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

Look at the primary wire at the back of your alternator. If memory serves, it's a 10 gauge fusible link. It should go to a junction slightly below the alternator on the block. Make sure the junction is tight.

Man, 6K for a new computer to a vehicle still under warranty, that's a travesty. New warranties truly are written on toilet paper.

 

I don't understand why this wouldn't be a warranty issue, have you done something to void it?
