cspi to mpi conversion
so, i'm pretty sure i have at least one, maybe two injectors/poppets shot on my '98 tahoe. i can't afford to replace the whole system, but from what i've read, i can't afford not to. i've seen the mpi system that can replace the problem riddled cspi. priced same as the stock replacement spider. anyone used this mpi conversion system? opinions? havin a baby real soon, moving across country shortly, so i need this rig running right, but don't want to be cheap and skimp out.
Every time we get the parts from the dealer we get the new set up. It is the best way to do it when you are going to tear it apart. If you replace everything with the new set up you will never have to take the upper intake off again. Do it right the first time, never do it again. It is a much better design.
thanks md. it seems that the new setup (mpi) would obviously be better, but haven't known anybody who's actually done this. now it's just a matter of gettin the dang money tree to grow.
ok, so did some checking, the price i'm gettin for the mpi conversion from ac delco is almost $500 just for the spider, not counting gaskets and bracket. ouch! bit tough to swallow with baby comin any day. called my sis who works for parts store. can get BWD version with bracket and gaskets for about $300. ebay has new Delphi units for $250. now, i'm sure to catch some grief for this, but how well does the two stack against the delco? read rumor somewhere that they are all built in same place, packaged differently. anyone had any experience with the non delco versions,or heard anything? or do i try the bank of Dad for a loan (with fingers crossed)
