I’m a disabled man and can’t quite figure out what’s keeping this Chevy 350 from turning over. It started and moved 10 feet to access the rear. Went to move it back and it wouldn’t spin. Replaced starter, solenoid, electronic module in distributor, ignition switch and brake light switch. Still nothing. This morning I used a wire and touch ends to big terminal on solenoid to little one and starter engaged and spun after I snatched it off kinda startled. It’s an escape vehicle and there’s another wildfire bearing down again. Could some kind soul share how I could install a momentary switch, Hotwire, or anything that’ll allow me to drive away and take more than just me skin???

So you are saying when you turn key to start the starter does not spin? Do you hear a click? How old is the battery?

 

There’s no noise, click or movement.

 

Probably not original engine. Odometer reads 600,000 I think. Was running fine. Has to be simple. It was laundry delivery truck with regular upkeep so drivers weren’t stranded.

 

Oh yea… the punch out on battery is jun 9
not sure if that’s 3 or 13 years… but it does test over 12V
