So my gear shifter got stuck in 2nd last night. I had to have it towed to my house. I thought it might be the tranny shift solenoid but when disconnected the linkage, the tranny shifts just fine from 1st to park. Seems the gear shifter is stuck or maybe the shift cable is stuck somewhere. Anybody know what is causing the shifter to lock on gear like this? ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!

 

What type of vehicle do you have, dujack19? Although we're unable to diagnose your vehicle online, we're hoping some other forum members can point you in the right direction. Sorry that you had to have your vehicle towed because of this. Send us a PM with your VIN and mileage and we'd be happy to do some additional research on our end.
