Default Help With Identification

I just purchased a second project. My first was a 1953 Ford F500. Now I have a 1980 Firebird. I was able to find numbers on the block the passenger front and driver side back. It has a Chevy 350. Please see pictures below.
Numbers are:
Front: V0916CNN
Back: 18 GM 3970010
Back also has the letters DNT and a bunch of dots.

I was able to track the following:
39070010: 1969 302ci 4 main z28 cam, OR 1969 327ci 2 main truck/industrial OR 1969-1980 350ci 2 or 4 main
V: Made in Flint, MI
CNN: 1970, 350 ci, 250hp, 2 barrel carb with TH350 tranny, originally installed in Camaro, Chevelle, Nova, or El Camino

Not sure what the 0916 means
Not sure what the 18 GM means (besides General Motors)
Not sure what the DNT and dots mean, (I'm assuming date, but don't know how to decipher it) there is also a an 03 or 80 on there.

Please help with identification.

Also, is there a way to tell what transmission (automatic) and rear end is in the car without pulling both from car? I'm sure there is supposed to be an identification number on them but I don't know where to look.

All help is greatly appreciated.
