Question How 2 Wire Up A Simple Replacement Horn

Need help wiring replacement horn

Replacing the horn relay on an 89 Chevy Celebrity is a real bitch, so I am attempting to install a simple horn with a push button direct to the battery.

The button I have has 5 wires black, red, green, blue, and white. It can light up, but I do not care about that or want it. The less power it will use the better. I just want it to blow the horn when the button is pressed.
How I have wired so far.

I have wired the horn with a red to positive on the battery, and a white to the interior to go to the switch. I have a black wire from the negative battery terminal to the interior and wired it to the black on the switch.

Where do I need to put the white wire in order to get the horn to work? I have tried them all and get nothing... other than I can get it to light up if I attach it to the red wire.

4 cylinder, 4 door, 89 Chevy Celebrity

Not all the images are showing up, but I suspect the switch isn’t capable of the current flow required for the horn.

If this is a kit you bought, check the manufacturer’s website for instructions/tech support.

Otherwise, you’ll probably need to add a relay to make the circuit work.
