Default Hypertech Wont read my truck

Bought a Hypertech max Energy unit for my 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 Classic WT 4.8 ENGINE. Plugged it in the truck and it wont read anything. No Onstar on this truck to take the fuse out of so I know thats not an issue. I took it to another truck just to see if the unit would boot up and it did. Anyone have or know what the problem might be? Everything is unplugged and the door was shut. Any suggestions?
