Default liftgate actuator replaced but still not working

2009 suburban 1500 LT 4wd 5.3L

The liftgate and rear window stopped working. when you press the switch in the handle, you hear faint clicking sounds, the door remians locked. On the rear window, theres no action at all when you press the switch/.

I just replaced the actuator for the cargo door, same status. the harness has 11.75 volts on the digital meter. only 3 bolts are involved in putting the new part.

what else is there to check? Could I have a bad , new actuator? please advise where to check further.

thanks.

the female harness of the actuator has 4 pins. which ones are the positive and the neg ative?

i want to test if the actuators would work when connected directly to the battery. if they work, then it has to be an electrica; problem aor switch.

can anyone help me identify where to connect the positive and negative terminals from the battery? i dont want to fry the module.
