Default LONGEVITY plasma cutter review

Looking for an easy way to cut out some quarter panels. Have been looking into a plasma cutter and do not want to pay the high price of a miller lincoln or hobart. I have done my research on the net and have come across www.longevity-inc.com. This site has plasma cutters listed for a 1/4 of the price of the name brands, not to mention a better warranty and a satisfaction guarantee! Is this to good to be true? I am thinking about pulling the trigger. Need some insight to the company. does anyone own one of these LONGEVITY plasma cutters?

Thanks in advance.

Hi fordeater,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

IMO, it sounds too good to be true. FWIW, there's quite a few tools I'd rather save money on before a cut-rate Plasma Torch.

Thumbs up www.freeweldingforum.com

after more research, I found that LONGEVITY has there own forum that they host at www.freeweldingforum.com. This forum is occupied by there very own customers, where they are able to share experiences with the product, etc.. The forum has over 2000 members and I was able to gather enough feedback and support from there customers that I decided to pull the trigger on the 30 day trial. I placed the order last night on there website and was able to register the machine for warranty under resources on there site.

I got a multipurpose machine after much customer feedback from there forum:

WeldMax LC-416D

This unit comes with a built in 40amp plasma cutter, 160amp tig welder and a 140 arc welder!
I will let you know how it goes in 1 months time! I think that I have made a wise purchase for the amount of cutting/welding that I will be doing compared to the money that I spent. If the machine sucks, I will send it back under the 30 day satisfaction and let EVERYONE know!

Thanks for the help!

I've only dealt with Lincoln and Miller. Miller is freaking amazing for welding. I've only had the pleasure to use a plasma cutter once... I want one. I'm a torch man apparently. But, I can fab anything, given enough time.

I have only ever used a miller plasma cutter. They are ok. I only use pneumatic cutter for the sheet metal work in my job because I have primarily straight lines to cut and I don't have to deal with the slag. I'm making duct systems though.

Default Will update

I will update you all with pics and the outcome of the machine. I have not yet received it, but am expecting the machine on Thursday from tracking info given. Will update with pics so that we can compare cuts from what you guys have seen a plasma do.

Thanks for the interest and the help.
