Default Need engine expert 350

Hello I have a lifted 1983 Chevy truck. I am looking to do some upgrades. It has a 2 barrel on it now. It sounds good but I was thinking of upgrading to a 4 Barrel and intake. Is this worth the reward. If so what would be a good size and brand to get? Would I have to upgrade anything else with it? Any input is great.

Thanks for the advice. I was lucky and found one the carb and manifold for 50 bucks. The guy said it ran good when he took it off . He had a couple engines he was parting out. I guess worst case I can have it rebuilt. How do I know how big the carb is I bought. It is a quadra jet. Should I go with electric or mechanical choke? Also it has a plug on top of it for some auto adjustments he said if I leave it unplugged it runs rich?? I can also get a aluminum intake with holly 600 that came off a 75 camero for 200 bucks. Is that a better deal and option? One more bit of information the quadra jet and manifold came of a 86 Chevy truck if I stick with that option will it work on my 1983 350 . Anyone have any advice?
