Good day everyone.

I have an issue that not even the mechanics in my shop want to bother with.

2002 Silverado 6.0L 1500HD auto

Gauges will quit except for voltage and oil pressure, no odometer either.

Truck will go into limp mode staying in 2nd gear.After a bit of driving or sitting in the cold the gauges will return but truck will stay in limp mode until restarted.

This condition will go away truck will be fine and I will park in my heated shop , in morning back to same condition.

I have gotten codes from the shift solenoid 1 and 2 but this can be cleared with no changes.

I am thinking that maybe an electrical connection on the transmission as the interior of the truck doesn't cool during these changes.

I am at a loss!!!

 

So, nobody has had this happen? scary!
