Default Need help identifying transmission

My brother in law recently moved away and gave me his project, so I now have a 87 yj jeep that is getting a gm 350 swap. He couldn’t remember exactly what the trans he gave me came out of but he thought it was a 90s s10. So that led me to think it was a 4l60e however after watching a video on how to identify what gen 4l60e you have, I’m not sure that’s what I have at all lol. Anyways if anyone can take a look and try to help me figure out what I got here so I make sure I order the right parts to link it up to my np231 tcase that would be awesome. Pics aren’t the greatest. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A 1998 S-10 should have a 4L60-E; 4 Speed Transmission. I hope this helps as when it comes to modifications we are all just taking a guess at this. It's the best that we can do. Pictures don't really help in cases like your own.

In my own case, I owned a 1970's Jeep CJ-5, no longer built since 1983. She had a Borg-Warner 4-speed non-OD transmission with a 205 transfer case. Granny-low gear. All manual, no A/C with the nice AMC 258 Cubic-Inch I-6 motor; two-barrel carb. Built like a brick s**t-house. Manual locking hubs. One tough vehicle.

Thanks for the replies guys, I figured out that it’s a NV3500, I guess they were used in s10s and dakotas in the 90s. But this is honestly best case scenario for me, because this will bolt right on to my 5.7l and it will link right up to the np231 transfer case. Super happy about not having to buy a $600 kit from advance adapters.
