Default in need of some direction

hey gang! ive been racking my brain trying to figure this out.
The vehicle...1995 lumina van w/3.1
the problems...drives fine, idles terrible, surges on take off and stalls.
codes im getting..22,32,33,34.
what ive done so far...replaced the TPS sensor, egr valve, and map sensor.
still cannot clear up this problem..i pull the battery cables to clear the codes which i checked to make sure they were erased then within 5 miles of test drive the engine light comes on and again i get 32 and 34 codes. so i went ahead and picked up another map sensor thinking maybe the 1st one was DOA, no change. this is an idle problem, after the van gets moving it runs smooth. any info to help me out is much appreciated!!

Hi ShawnIII,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

Two things come to mind. A vacuum leak, check all the hoses leading off the intake manifold(possibly distributor vacuum?) VERY carefully.

AND the great imitator: Corroded battery cables. At 16 years old, I would guess if you changed your cables and engine- to- firewall ground-strap, your short might sing a new tune.

We're here to try to help as many as we can with diagnosis and dialogue.

Stay tuned, maybe next time you'll see somebody having a problem you solved a while back.

Please post when you've figured out the problem. Many others could benefit from your experience. Thanks.

well got to the bottom of this today. as i found out the codes given do not always mean that the part it is refering to is bad. this was a fuel problem. fuel filter wasnt plugged but damn near, fuel regulator diaphram was shot, and TBI screens needed cleaning so the whole throttle body got cleaned up. and to top it off i replace the fuel pump just because. runs better then ever! thanks to the suggestions I recieved from here the vacuum hoses are all new along with the ground cables two less future problems to deal with! thanks gang!
