Red face noise in radio

I put in a radio in my 2005 chevy silverado 1/2 2wd 5.3 vortec extra cab. I'm getting noise in my radio I had read on line to check my ground and that worked some but the noise isn't as loud but still there. How can I get it to go completely. Thanks

Hi edridd, have copied your other details to this section for you so everyone knows whats happening. Hope someone has the answer for you.
Adrian

It's like a whistle noise low until engine revs. I looked on web and it said I could hook a wire in the brown ignition switch since that year doesn't have a switched wire or I could of gone into a pink or yellow wire I can't remember which one. I thought maybe it was ground when I took ground off it got real loud and quieted down when ground back on. When music is playing you can't here it as much depending on song and gets loud when accelerating until engine shifts into next gear and levels out, but that maybe would make since at were I put the switched wire. I'll move that wire and see what happens. Thanks so much I don't have a lot of money, to have installed it, would cost over 200.00 I'm trying to install for my wife's truck. Her radio went out and she disabled.

It could be your spark plug wires. Another possibility is that you should try running another ground to chassis wire. I'd go from the alternator bracket to the frame with one and see what happens. If all else fails, Crutchfield sells noise suppressors fairly cheap and even has a 1-800 tech help line. You may be able to just call them and they can help you, no charge.

Double check your ground from the radio. If that ground wire doesn't have a good, clean connection, you'll get the noise. And make sure you antenna wire is fully seated. If it's not pushed in all the way, the antenna isn't properly grounded either.
