Non starting problem for 5.7 litre (350 ci)
Hi
I've got a 1979 Cadillac Seville 5.7 litre (350) Oldsmobile motor.
It cut out recently. The Auto electrician said it needed a coil pack as there was no spark to the plugs.
It was turning over OK.
So I bought a new coil pack, fitted it and it still turns over but doesn't start.
What have I missed guys?
Thanks.
Rizzo

by time you replace the parts in the distributor it sometimes cost more than replacing the whole distributor off ebay. like chevy said you have the pick-up coil and the ICM also to replace. you can test the ICM at the parts store and the ignition coil can be tested at the parts store or at home. and as far as i know the pick-up coil cant be tested and you have to remove and dissemble the distributor to get to it
