plug and play remote starter question
ok guys i'm talking about a buick encore but i believe this car is similar to the trax so maybe someone on this site will help me. it seems the buick forum is dead. i have posted 5 threads and have yet to get one reply.
anyway does anyone happen to know if those plug and play remote starters you can get from amazon or ebay and even online are any good? they use the cars fob door lock part to do the remote start. it seems you unplug some connectors on the cars cpu and then plug in one of these units and plug the cpu connectors in to that unit and then you have to do a bit of pairing and then take the remote control unit to a pc and go online and finish the programming and then reinstall the remote start controller and put the car back together and then use the key fob door lock part and press 3 times and the car should start.
so if it works for the trax it may work for the buick, i thinking some guys here have or maybe installed something like this on their cars?
thanks

This is just two cents from an automotive professional with ASE certs… don’t ever try to install an aftermarket remote start or any immobilizer system. It’s gonna become an absolute nightmare and wreck havoc on you and your mechanic. Trust me, I speak from experience.
