Default problem with 93 chevy lumina......

the problem with my 93 lumina is that it will not start unless gas is pressed down. then when released dies right away... only probs before this was idle while coasting was low almost dieing any suggestions ?

tps sensor is probably bad. or the idle speed control valve.

thanks for the reply i think im going to try and clean the idle air control valve and throttle body and see if that does it.

well im still not sure whats up with it tried cleaning but still no difference. it only starts when i push the gas and i noticed it smokes alittle and backfires from engine. also some smoke comes from engine any ideas what could be causing this ???

get a paperclip and stick into the #1 and #2 slots on the computer interface by your right knee on the bottom of the IP. Count the flashes that come on the Instrument cluster from the engine symbol. It will flash 12 three times and then give you the stored engine codes. there are probably a couple of codes in there.

wow i think i found out what the problem was. it was just a simple throttle adjustment now its idling like it should and staying running.
