Default Question on 350 turbo transmission on 66 chevy

Tranny governor was broke, replaced it truck still would not shift on the ground. but if I picked up the rear end, it would shift into every gear and the tires would move but as soon as I put it back on the ground. It won’t go everybody was saying it’s my clutch plates, but would a governor would not the right teeth do that? I don’t want to rebuild this tranny if it could be the wrong size governor.

Default Question on 350 turbo transmission on 66 chevy

Governor was broke . Question is , would a different size govenor make it do this after putting on new one ? I put rear end up on jacks , it shifted fine in every gear . tires spinning faster as I accelerated, but as soon as i put it back on the floor and tryed putting it into gear-it did nothing , not a budge. I had a couple people say its the clutch plates. I dont want to rebuild this tranny if it was something that simple . And i need this truck running it my only vehicle

Shark is right. You posted in "Forum Notices" which nobody is going to see. Moving it to general until you post the vehicle.
