Steering gear leak

Steering gear leak
I have a problem with my steering gear. There is a leak from the "lower cover" item 30 in the drawing. I am a little confused if the cover itself is the problem or if there is any seal behind it. I think I only see a bearing (29).
Do I need to replace the cover (30) or what can the problem be?

It is a Pontiac Montana SV6 2006. 2 wheel drive.
