Synthetic VS Conventional
In my 6.0 with almost 15,000miles, I'm do for an oil change. I've always ran 10w40 Pennzoil in my other trucks, but to not void the warranty I'm still running 5w30 like the book recommends. My first question is, I have 3qts of conventional 10w30 and 2qts of 10w30 synthetic. Can you mix those two oils in the engine. Due to a severe lack of funds, a quart of oil is not something a can afford, and I refuse to let my truck go beyond 3500miles between oil changes. Second, What are yall's opinion of conventional and synthetic oil?

Oh hell... here we go.
Oil debates are never much fun.
I wouldn't add synthetic to a conventional fill.
Synthetic is better than conventional all the way around. Thats an accepted fact.

You could mix the two together you would end up with a mixture similar to semi- synthetic. Semi- Syn is a product actually out on the market now . Almost all fords now run a 5-20 semi syn

Thats true. There are synthetic blends out there that are like a mid-grade...
I really doubt that it'll hurt, I just don't mix my own oil to be on the safe side in case it can cause harm.

I'll be running AMSOIL in whatever toy I end up building, but not on my daily driver. My 89' had 300,000miles on it from strictly pennzoil before the rings finally blew. I'm kinda biased towards it.
