Default Too fast at start

I have tried to search this problem online to no avail. I have a 93 chevy g20 sport van 3/4 ton 6 cylinder 4.3 engine with 123500 miles on it. An award amount of miles for a 24 year old van. A lot of the parts are original... when the van starts cold it is smooth and sounds fine: a solid "VRRRROOOOOM". But if started within an hour of being shut off or even worse (as in worse sounding) started repeatedly within an hour of most recent shut off the engine starts 'too fast' sounding more like "V-V-V-V-VR-VR-VR-VROMMMMMMMM" when the van starts cold compared to hot the start up takes the same amount of time but when hot it seems like a lot more energy is pressed into that short two seconds....hard to explain but that clean "rooooom" sound is replaced by a very rushed version. The van has always started, never stalled.
Thoughts?

Did you ever get this resolved ? I have a similar issue where it fires up “too fast” when warm , makes a weird noise and sometimes so fast it struggles to crank on a little but always turns on. Cold/cool starts sound great and normal .

Thank You
