Default Transmission problems

On my Chevy,I noticed that the transmission wouldn't go into gear. Reverse or any gear would work.Went outside the next day when the weather was 13 degrees and the transmission would go into gear with no problem. The weather was 52 degrees 2 days later and it wouldn't move in any gear. The fluid has not been changed since i got the truck from the previous owner, but its very dark, and thin like water. Will changing the fluid and the filter fix the problem?

Yes, I'd change the Fluid, and, add a good Cleaner as well.
After it starts shifting at normal temps (I feel that it will) you'll need to change the Fluid again to remove the Cleaner. I think that will do it !

Follow the Cleaner Manufacturers directions to the letter !
