Default vss cuircut fault

Ok so this is what I have
1991
S10 Tahoe
4.3v6
2wd

Just got the truck and its coding a 24 (vss circuit). The issue is inoperative speedometer, odometer, trip, and cruise. The Brake light is on but there is no code showing for brake system. I had a good VSS in a junk transmission (both electronic) and swapped them out. This did not resolve the issue. The plug for the sensor did not look burnt or corroded. I decided to replace the instrument cluster (knew it was good) out of the donor truck and changed out the instr. clstr. this did not have any effect either. I would like to know if there is another sensor or module that controls the circuit that I am unaware of. Any help is much appreciated!!!
Thanks
Jessica

I have the exact problem on a 93 -94 G20 electronic transmission, replaced trans fluid/filter/fuses checked, replaced VSS, no rat chewed wires,no luck. Where is the buffer or if fitted DRAC please.

regards

Dave
