What made the 327 get slow during the gas crisis
I was gifted gifted 1952 dodge truck with a Chevy 327 driveline. I found out it's from a 68 camaro (maybe 69) whatever the slowest year is. The truck has been sitting but started after required maintenance. I'm just wondering what I can put on to get 4-500hp without removing the pistons hopefully.
Any advice appreciated. Thanks all.

Most states use 10 percent ethanol, so you don't get pure gasoline. Still trying to figure out the OP's post about the 327 cubic inch GM motor. It was discontinued in 1969. before low-compression motors came into being in 1972-1973, with harden valve seats to make up for non-leaded gasoline, and unleaded gas for the catalytic converter.
