Window wiring

Default Window wiring

I have a 2000 camaro, just installed a window motor and regulator in the passenger door. Window will still not go up or down. Tried to ohm the switch but it doesnt make any sence to me . Can someone tell me what the 5 wires are for. And should the switch ohm like a regular switch. Thnxs

Not sure about the Camaro, but the wiring diagram for a generic switch is attached below. Seems to me that the -12v terminal is actually a ground.

In any event, the circuit is straightforward. The window motor should have two wires. Connect one to ground and the other to +12v and the window will move either up or down. Switch the wires and the window will move in the opposite direction.

As can be seen in the switch diagram below, in the center (off) position, both motor wires are grounded. In the other positions, one motor wire is connected to +12v and the other is grounded.

don't know if this helps or hinders you but here's the wiring diagram for your windows.
make sure there are no broken wires in the door boots in both front doors
