wont start after sitting 24 hrs

wont start after sitting 24 hrs
I have a 2002 GMC with 4.3 V6. If the truck sits 20/24 hours it has to crank a long time to start . If driven after sitting less time it starts ok. The timing chain and gears were replaced along with the crank sensor. I mentioned the fuel filter to the mechanic and he said it was fine. Any ideas??? Thanks JB89
