Default Air bag light
Service air bag light is on in my 2012 Silverado ,but there is on check engine light on. I just install a new stereo and I had the battery disconnected for 3 days . How do I fix this.

I for codes it's not throwing any codes just the service airbag lights on

airbag codes are body codes. a scan tool that can access body codes is required...a code reader won't do it. What r u using to check for codes?

One post read , disconnect - and + battery cables and put them together for at least 25 minutes and that would clear it. Sounds shaky ?

the airbag system does a system heath check and start up and continuously. If the fault is present, the system will detect it at start up and set the light; so disconnecting the battery does nothing becuase even if it did clear the codes (which it doesn't) the system would health check and fail 7 seconds after you key on. If the fault was fixed...at key on the system would heath check and turn off the airbag light.

Thank you for the response to my question was trying to figure it out without having to take it to the dealer now the question is do I go buy a body scan tool or take it to the dealer?
