help with transmission
Transmission does not have a dip stick for checking fluid level, they are a sealed unit. They need to be serviced by the stealer or other transmission shops. I have serviced my own 2007 HHR LT but is a pain unless you have access to a lift
I know this is a little late to respond, but I have just recently joined from the ChevyHHR.net site.
I am a former GM hourly employee from Windsor Assembly that built the 4T40E automatic trans., involved with the testing and repair. I have a red 2006 LS with the 4T40E
Unless you have a slipping problem or a visible leak from the transmission, it shouldn't require any "checking".
I replaced the original Dexron VI with Royal Purple on the advice of my local Chevy dealer at 50,000 miles. I have no problems with the trans. at all.
