Default 07 Impala LT remotes stop working.

All remote functions, ie door lock/unlock, trunk, horn and remote start functions work. After about one minute, all remote functions stop working. Must use key to enter car. Once I put key in switch and turn on and off, all functions work. Again, after about one minute, all functions dead. dido-dido.

I'm out of warranty because of the miles (99K), and called my dealer. He thought the RCDL receiver module and both remotes may need to be replaced (to the tune of $500).

Anyone out there have a cheaper, do-it-yourself, suggestion? Thanks, Jeff

sounds like the remote keyless entry module goes to sleep or loses power for some reason.

Any way to check if the receiver is bad, or whether it's losing it's power source for another reason?

If I change the receiver myself, do I need to do anything special to reprogram it? I know how to program the remotes from the DIC, just don't know if I need any other special equipment or instructions.

Thanks, Jeff

to reset the remotes from the DIC is very simple i have done it many times before on my 06 impala and my 07 buick just go into the DIC where it says re-prgram rmote key and hit the checkmark button and follow what it tells you to do, both of the afforemetioned cars had the same problem yours did but they were both still under warranty

The dealer has a special tool to check to see if the remotes are sending an output. They could use that tool when the remotes don't work to see if there is an output being sent from the remotes or not.
Otherwise, you could have an aftermarket keyless hoked up for about $200
