I remember the time when an automatic transmission would last the life of the vehicle without problems except changing the vacuum modulator. A job that could be done by a sunday home mechanic. There was no electronics to break down. Nowaday you are lucky if you can get 60,000 miles before they start showing problems.

For my own vehicle, had the Mass Air Flow Sensor replaced and it went out again. Just unhooked the darn thing and it is driving fine, except for the RPM is acting funny, when I let off the gas and the RPM drops below 1000 then the RPM jumps up then back down, then repeats as it goes below 1000, once I slow down and stop it is fine. When I recently had brakes done the mechanic rehooked up the MAF sensor and it started giving me problems again. May have to unhook.
