Default 2002 Chevy Impala A/C Fan only works well on 5

Hello Folks. A while ago the AC/Heater fan on my 2002 Chevy Impala stopped working except on setting 5. Sometimes I think it works on a little on 1 and/or 2 as well. Reading the forums here and other places on the net I decided to replace the resister pack (buried up on top of the motor). Sadly it made no difference. I checked the fuses of course but they are good. Any ideas? Could it be the relays? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Since you put a new resistor in the car, I would look at the switch and the wiring between the switch and the resistor pack. The plug that connects to the resitor pack overheats sometimes and that could also cause a bad connection.

I started playing with the switch more and on level 1 or 2 if I torque it just right I can get the fan to work temporarily. That sounds like the switch is bad to me and unfortunately I think that means I will have to replace the entire Dual Zone Temperature AC Heater Climate Control Unit. Do you concur or do you still think it could be a wire / connection?

Thanks again for your advice.

Anything is possible. I would make a check of all the wires and cables and if all looks good then I would turn my attention to the switch.
