I've had to replace my blower motor resistor twice in the last 3 months. Any ideas on what could be causing them to die?? Could it be a voltage issue coming into the resistor?

 

Are you using the one from GM. It is a much improved version than the original that you had . The new one from GM is sealed in epoxy. I replaced mine on my 2003 impala after I lost 2 of the speeds. What a job to replace! I took the front seat out so I coud have a bit more place to work. I can tell you that I was talking to myself alone on this terrible tight job.

 

I replaced the original part with an aftermarket unit and then replaced that one with the same aftermarket. I just noticed that one of the pins in the wiring harness is slightly melted and blackened.
