hi guys , still having problems sorting out my non working fans,
I removed the hook up on the sensor on the intake manifold,
both fans came on very strong.
I then checked fuses [ marked fan cont. 2&3, fan cont1 ]
and exchanged one for the other, no change still no fans.
also no breaks in the fuses, both appear good and not blown.
I then exchanged the fan cont. 1 with fan cont. 2 , no fans
and then test both relays in the crank relay position on the upper fuse box
all relays tested as much as my limited know how could go, I am lost
cam someone pleas assist me on how and what to check next ??
please post
happy holiday. many thanks, rocky

Look for a wiring diagram online. I found one for your car, but the font is too small. Looks like it ties into the pcm, and the pcm selects output to the fan(s).

hi Kevin , i am not sure when the fan are set to go on,
I have not taken the car on a long drives for fear the fans will not go on,

hi guys , me and the impala took a trip over to the auto parts
store , they ran a scan and two codes popped up P0118 & p1115 ,
they suggested i replace the sensor, I did still no fans .
does the computer have to reset after a repair ?
if so how long does it take to reset ??
please post, have to get this car going.
many thanks, rockie

hi blue , yes , i removed the sensor wire plug and the fans come on ,
I was doing additional tests only the hood latch is now jammed.
I had hoped disconneting the battery would reset the computer , do not know'
also i donnot know what temature the fans are to start ??
now cannot open the hood,

I own a newer Impala (2014 3.6L) and have noticed that when the A/C is not on and the weather is colder that my fans will not kick on until it hits almost 220 Degrees. This is with the car not moving just stationary and idling for a period of time. When they do turn on it falls back to 185 degrees very quickly. Both the the codes you listed are cooling system related stating erratic information the pcm has received from the coolant temp sensor. If you have not already replaced that sensor, i would replace it as it seems to the the culprit.
