Default 2006 Impala SS Burning Oil Problem

I recently got an oil change roughly a month ago, they put 6 quarts in a couple days ago my Low Oil light came on. So somehow in a month and about 1,000 miles I burned 6 quarts of oil. I read that the DOD system could burn oil but I saw averages of about 1 quart per 1,000 miles. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm sorry you are experiencing this issue with your Impala vehicle. I would like to check my resources to see if there are any known issues at this time. Would you please PM me the last 8-digits of your VIN and the mileage of the vehicle?

I look forward to your reply.

I am experiencing the same problem. Oil was changed at 64197 km. and low oil light came on at 67119 km. Had to add 2 litres. This is the third time it has happened. The last 8 of the VIN is 69152769. What is the problem ???
My son says it is time to dump the car but I would like to keep it.
Looking forward to your early reply.

Thank you for the info. I contacted GM of Canada and will be taking my Impala to a local GM dealer for an oil consumption diagnostic test. Will keep you in the loop.
