Default 2011 Impala Front Hub

The front hub by definition is part of the drive train. NOT according to GMC. So, my question is, is it part of the brakes, the steering, the suspension or maybe it's part of the tail lights? GMC said it is not covered under the drive train warranty.

Drive Systems
All internally lubricated parts, final-drive housings, axle shafts and bearings, constant velocity joints, propeller shafts and universal joints. All mounts, supports, seals and gaskets as well as any electrical components internal to the drive axle. Also covered are any actuators directly connected to the drive axle (i.e., front differential actuator, etc). Exclusions: Excluded from the powertrain coverage are all wheel bearings, drive wheel front and rear hub bearings, locking hubs, drive system cooling, lines, hoses, radiator, sensors, wiring and electrical connectors related to drive systems as well as any drive system control module and/or module programming.

Yep, my local dealer keeps quoting that warranty like it's gospel. Seems pretty obvious that the hub is a fail point and GMC made the bearings unchangable so they could soak you around $350 for a new hub. I got the drive train warranty and the Vehicle 1 Premium warranty so i'm going to give them another chance to make this right before taking this up a notch.

Ummm, unless you find something in your documentation where it says the hub is included, I'm not sure what ground you have to stand on?

Is it a sealed hub? Jack the car up, remove the caliper, remove the rotor, unplug the hub, knock old hub off, installation reverse of removal.

Or you find and point out where the extended warranty says wheel bearings. , Since the hub and bearings are one assembly, problem solved.They are taking it into the shop tuesday morning and replacing the hub. Thanks for the replies.

Some times good things do happen. Glad I spent the money on the extended warranty. It covers dang near everything on the car.
